Author Cynthia Jean Mueller
About the Author:
Cynthia Mueller has been a published author for over two years. Her first novel, entitled "Beyond the Garden Arbor", was conceived one day while she was driving her school bus. She had known she wanted to attempt writing a novel for a while, but was struggling with an idea for it. Suddenly, a student sitting directly behind her loudly announced to his friend across the aisle, "I have a secret place in my back yard!" Cynthia's mind instantly began whirling. What kind of secret place could she possibly invent in someone's back yard, something that no one else knew anything about? Over the next few weeks, before the school year ended, she thought this idea over and over in her mind. By the time the school year was finished, nearly the entire outline of the story was in her head. Days later, she sat down at her computer, and began the journey of getting her story down to perfection. By the end of the summer, the rough draft of the novel was complete and she submitted her manuscript to Tate Publishing and Enterprises of Mustang, Oklahoma. Only days later, she had a contract in her hand! It was very exciting. "Beyond the Garden Arbor" is a juvenile fiction novel geared toward young adult readers. However, readers of all ages, particularly girls, find this story intriguing.
While "Beyond the Garden Arbor" was in production, Cynthia continued writing. As a youngster, she had always possessed a wild imagination, daydreaming often. She loved English and Writing classes. Purely by accident, one day she was talking with her teenage son Gerrod in his room. His favorite cat jumped up onto his lap. Gerrod petted the cat briefly and ruffled his fur, and out of the blue, called him "Dorfuss Bubblebutt". Cynthia laughed and it suddenly struck her that this silly name would make an awesome title. She then teased her son, telling him that someday, she was going to write a novel called "Dorfuss Bubblebutt". Of course, he didn't believe her, and looked at her like she was nuts, so she went ahead and began coming up with ideas for that novel. Once the first chapter was down, the rest of the story just kind of evolved. "Dorfuss Bubblebutt" is also a juvenile fiction novel written with young adults in mind. Yet again, readers of all ages enjoy this story.
Both of Cynthia's novels work on the premise of good against evil. She is a Christian, and firmly believes that both realms exist, and that righteousness should always ultimately overcome wickedness. Yet, while both novels have Christian undertones, they are most definitely a fun read. Cynthia also loves to illustrate and has illustrated both of the above-mentioned novels.
Cynthia lives in the Midwest, and is the proud mother of three. She is also the grandmother of six. Please check out various photos on this website depicting fun moments with her family, or just Cynthia herself around and about her home and yard.
